Thread Seal Tape – a universal PTFE tape for sealing threaded connections (“plumber’s tape”) made of any material (metal, plastic, etc.). It can be used for car and equipment repair, as well as in industrial and domestic applications when installing or repairing plumbing systems and gas pipes.
Properties:
Length / Width / Thickness: 15 m / 19 mm / 0.075 mm;
Low friction coefficient: PTFE polymers have an extremely low friction coefficient, simplifying fitting connections and improving sealing;
Thermal stability: PTFE has a very high melting point (327 °C) and can be used at temperatures up to 260 °C. It is also an excellent electrical insulator;
Elasticity and strength: resistant to mechanical stress, can withstand constant pressure up to 10 MPa and short-term drops up to 41 MPa. Service life — about 13 years. Does not harden after use, allowing thread reuse;
Chemical and biological inertness: highly resistant to aggressive chemicals (acids, alkalis, oils, fuels, solvents). Not subject to rot.
Application:
Clean the thread from dirt and rust using a brush and degrease it with 9691 MANNOL Brake Cleaner. For new threads, just degrease. Wrap the tape tightly along the thread direction, starting from its end. Slightly stretch it so that it fits into the thread. The last turn should overlap the edge of the thread to prevent slipping. Avoid excessive winding. Cut off the tape.
